The Set of Two Hollow Banksia Tea Light Holders are among the most extraordinary pieces we make. Each pod is carefully hollowed by hand, preserving the hundreds of natural holes formed during the seed pod's life in the Western Australian bush.
When a tea light candle is placed inside, the light shines through every natural hole, casting moving, flickering patterns across your walls and ceiling. The effect is unlike any store-bought candle holder — it is deeply calming and utterly unique.
This set includes one short and one tall hollow pod, allowing you to create a layered display. The pods can also function as natural diffusers — simply add a few drops of essential oil to the outer surface and they will release fragrance gently throughout the day.
As a candle holder: Place a standard tea light candle inside the hollowed pod. Light the candle and watch as the flame illuminates every natural hole, creating a beautiful ambient glow. Never leave burning candles unattended.
As a diffuser: Drizzle 5–8 drops of any 100% pure essential oil onto the outer surface of the pod. The porous surface absorbs the oil and releases gentle fragrance over the following days.
Tip: The taller pod works beautifully as a centrepiece on a dining table, while the shorter pod suits a bedside table or bathroom vanity.
